How Thriftby works for pros

Set your rates, get verified, and start earning. Here's everything you need to know.

Apply and get verified

Complete our 6-step application — basic info, services, profile photo, government ID, and any certifications. We review applications within 2–3 business days.

Set your rates and availability

You control your hourly rate, the services you offer, and when you're available. No minimums, no restrictions. Set your own prices.

Go online and get bookings

Toggle online in the app when you're ready to work. Verified customers in your area can see you and book instantly.

Complete the job

Head to the customer, do great work, and update your status in the app. The customer receives a notification to confirm completion.

Get paid within 24 hours

Once the customer confirms the job is done, payment is released from escrow and transferred to your bank account within 24 hours.

Rates & Pay

You set your rate

No platform-imposed ceiling. Charge what your skills are worth. Minimum $15/hr.

Platform commission

Thriftby keeps a small commission on each completed booking. No subscription, no monthly fees — you only pay when you earn.

Payout timing

Within 24 hours of customer confirmation via Stripe Connect to your Canadian bank account.

No signup fee

It's free to apply and join Thriftby as a provider. You only pay commission when you earn.

Verification

Government ID

Submit a driver's licence, passport, PR card, or provincial ID. Reviewed by our admin team.

Profile photo

A clear, front-facing photo. Shown to customers before they book you.

Certifications (optional)

RMT registration, trade certificates, first aid, food handler, WSIB clearance — all increase your bookings.

Police record check (coming Q3 2026)

We are integrating automated CPIC checks. Currently providers self-declare and upload their own certificate.
