• Account information: name, email address, phone number, password
• Profile information: bio, service categories, hourly rate, availability
• Verification documents: government-issued ID (providers only), profile photo
• Payment information: processed and stored securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers
• Location data: approximate location for matching, precise GPS only during active jobs (providers)
• Booking history: service bookings, reviews, and transaction records
• Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the Thriftby platform
• To verify provider identity and process background checks
• To process payments and manage escrow
• To send booking confirmations, receipts, and service communications
• To match customers with available providers in their area
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We share your information only as follows:

• With providers you book: your first name, service address, and booking details
• With customers who book you: your first name, profile photo, verified badge status
• With Stripe: payment processing — governed by Stripe's privacy policy
• With background check providers: name and ID for verification (providers only)
• With law enforcement: when required by law or to protect safety

We do not sell your personal data to third parties or advertisers.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in Canada. Provider verification documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

5. Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent for non-essential data use
• Request deletion of your account and data
